Obama talks peace, with Palestinians

29 05 2009

It was a desperate time for President Clinton in the final months of his presidency, when he courted the leader of the PLO hoping that he would consider a peace treaty with Israel, known as the Camp David Talks.  In hindsight, Clinton never expected that Yasser Arafat would not take him up on his offer. Today, similar talks are being discussed as a road map for peace in the Middle East. President Obama has urged Israel and the people of Palestine to consider this new possible agreement so that both parties could live in peace in that country. President Obama also stated that peace in the Middle East, especially in Israel was a great interest to the United States and should also be of great concern to other Arab nations. – Only time will tell – as it has for thousand of years.
